Breathe In, Breathe Out

Today was a bummer of a day. It was filled with anxiety and loss. I knew that layoffs in our Company were not far off, I guess I wasn't prepared for the magnitude of it. A lot of really great co-workers were let go. I miss them already.  

So what does one do to lift the blues? They long onto NPR and listen to Andrew Bird's new album. The album won't be released until the 20th, but they have been kind enough to post it for those of us who just can't wait.

It is blissful and temporarily breaks up the blues.

Pedicure

It has been a hectic summer with work. I have not had a break in a very long time. I have also been covering for others in my department, I feel like I will never catch up.

So tonight A-Gril and I went to get much needed pedicures.  I used to do my own when I lived in Utah but out here nail salons are everywhere. On Piedmont Avenue there are several, in fact we passed 3 in a 2 block stretch. I have no problem shelling over 20 bucks to have someone else do it for me.

To sit and relax with old trashy** magazines while getting a foot massage and soft feet, what a perfect end to a not so perfect day.

I'm a fan

I wish the Olympics were aired a lot earlier in the evening. I can't stay up until 1 am to watch. I am Tivo'ing (is that a word?), however it isn't as much fun to watch when you know the results. 

The other day Gina at work sent me a link. She was bored and checking out all of the athletes.   

How hot is Rob Moore and to top it off he is British.  I am now a new fan of Field Hockey with a bit of a crush. Now if they would air it on T.V. so that I can actually say I watched a match.

Treats

When clients come from overseas they bring treats...sometimes they are yummy.

One of the Japanese customers brought me Strawberry chocolate and a chip like snack made with B.A.F. product. I think it is supposed to be steak flavored.... delicious???

I have yet to try them. I just like the packaging. They really like their cartoons in Japan.

I'm Bored

So today is a Holiday, you know Good Friday. We used to get it off until last year the higher ups decided it would be more PC to have MLK Jr day off instead. Who wants another day in January off? Good Friday was the perfect day. The sun is usually shining and you really have spring fever.

As I sit here at work with nothing to do today because most of my clients in Latin America take this day off, it is Saturday in the Far East and late in Europe. I have cleaned off my desk, purused many a blog online, read the news and am about to crack open my book. So this is what I am getting paid to do today.

I will play a little Vampire Weekend on my Ipod and watch the clock crawl for the next two hours.

I really wish I was really busy right about now....oh the phone is ringing...I have never been so excited.
