Every Halloween I must watch "The Nightmare Before Christmas". It is a family favorite. We are big Tim Burton fans. It always get me in the mood for the holiday. I especially love the music. Granted I also watch it at Christmas, it is a 2 in 1 Holiday flick. That is why it is so awesome!
I also have to watch "Arsenic and Old Lace". Why because of Cary Grant...duh, and it is a perfect "scary" comedy.
Oh and then there is this classic.
"Watcher in the Woods". Granted it seems silly now, but when I was younger, my older Sister made us watch it while she was babysitting, it scared the bejeezus out of me. We also joke around with the whole Narek thing.
Happy Halloween Everyone!!!

After asking SAL what their favorite thing was in the Bay Area they all said the Exploratorium. I have to agree it was truly a great experience. We had so much fun playing and learning. We were there for hours and even forgot that we were hungry. By the time we left we were exhausted, famished and our feet hurt, that did not diminish the total fun we had.
If you get a chance I highly suggest going with or without kids.
I made all three of them drink out of the toilet. They weren't going to do it until I did. I have to admit it was very surreal.

Walking down a path in Golden Gate Park SAL and I came across this giant. I am not going to pretend to know the species, let alone the name, I am not a botanist, just an admirer. A became obsessed with it, touching it's rough leathery leaves. She imagined that an Elephant would feel similar. It towered over her and made her feel just a bit small.
Comparing her hand to the leaf.
A lovely lady who has walked this path for years stopped and chatted with us. She even stated the name of the plant, yeah I still don't remember. She was a native of Germany and it was fun to listen to her perspective of the City.
Also on the path we admired these
And these pretty little yellow ones
And this funny little tree. I think it is brilliant, instead of accepting the bad hand it was dealt, it moved to a better and brighter spot. Not letting anything keep it down.
We also saw this gigantic plant, again not a botanist. A was enamored yet afraid of it. Funny girl. She thought it was going to reach out and grab her.
Group shot of SAL. It was a good although chilly day for a jaunt in the park.

Not to long ago I purchased a bunch of Dahlia's. I was excited to gaze upon these beauties for at least a week. Well they were a bad bunch and only lasted 2 days. It was pretty sad. They aren't so pretty when they are dead.
So when my Nieces and Nephew came out to the Bay, I had the pleasure to visit the Dahlia garden at the Conservatory of Flowers. It of course is one of my favorites. Dahlia's are much prettier when the are alive. Take a gander....
My absolute favorite, it's name is So Happy. Really it is, I think they are so perfect!
